Dr. Lung Love doesn't love nurses....

The Lung Cancer Alliance has launched a video to highlight the increase in lung cancer among women. While we applaud the goal, the result significantly misses the mark by sexualizing nurses. We invite you to write to Lung Cancer Alliance CEO Lauren Ambrose Fenton at lfenton@lungcanceralliance.org to express your opinions that this video promotes the "naughty nurse" image and insults nurses, with a request to her to have it removed immediately. We are also sharing, with her permission, a letter written by Ms. Emily Beard that explains the harm that this depiction of nurses and women has on the nursing profession. We thank Ms. Beard for her willingness to share her letter with all of you.

Additionally, please respond to the Lung Cancer Blog, where nurses can address a Dr. Lynne Eldridge who gives a "hats off" to this Dr. Lunglove ad. We urge you to write as quickly as possible in support of all nurses, especially oncology nurses who are so inappropriately portrayed in this video.
